SWAN LAKE
by Patrick Patton for
Birch Fabrics

There is something entirely dreamy and serene about this new collection. Perhaps it’s the calming color palette—deep blues, shades of green, and creams—or the simple swans gliding across the water, but it has eInsider feeling particularly mellow. Dragonflies, turtles, and frogs all make appearances among the collection’s prints, but the swan is really the star of the show (er, ballet?). This organic line is available in quilt-weight poplin, knit, and double gauze.

HALF YARD GIFTS BY DEBBIE SHORE

For Search Press

Retail: $19.95

The latest book in Shore’s “Half Yard” series, this new title features 22 projects to create and gift, each made using a half-yard of fabric or less. Projects include everything from bags and aprons to pillows and, even, a cactus pincushion. And readers may be surprised to see that—despite the very little fabric required to create them—the finished projects are actually quite detailed and polished.

CRISS CROSS APPLESAUCE PATTERN

From V and Co.

Retail: $10

This quilt may simple in design, but its bold use of color makes the finished product anything but. A perfect complement to V and Co. designer, Vanessa Christenson’s Ombre Fabric collection for Moda, Criss Cross Applesauce uses traditional piecing to create a stunning visual effect. The final quilt finishes to 72” x 96” (large), 56” x 72” (medium throw), or 48” x 48” (baby).

DEVOTION BY IRON ORCHID DESIGNS

For Clothworks

This new collection from design Duo Iron Orchid is sheer romance—layers of delicate roses and florals, antiqued butterflies, and detailed ornamental prints in soft hues of red, pink, cream, mint, and aqua. Coordinating projects include two Devotion quilts—one by Saginaw St. Quilt Co. and one by Time Quiltworks—Ruffled Trio bags from Indygo Junction, and the Devotion Lily Dress from Pink Fig. But we think this overtly feminine collection would also be a great fit for a Valentine’s Day project or a girl’s nursery.

MODA ALL-STARS ALL IN A ROW
by Lissa Alexander For Martingale

Retail: $26.99

We love the concept of this new book, featuring designs from “Moda All-Stars” Lissa Alexander of Moda Lissa, Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles Quilters, Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts, Camille Roskelley of Thimbleblossoms, Pat Sloan, and others. Each contributed row patterns that can be combined to create a truly unique quilt. The book includes 24 row designs in three categories—Classic Patchwork, Well Seasoned, and A Bit of Whimsy, plus a gallery of quilts for inspiration.
