This new strong, 50wt. extra-long staple Egyptian cotton thread from Colonial is also GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. Created from ring-spun combed cotton, the multi-purpose thread is also colorfast and shrink-fast, and ideal for hand and machine sewing, serging, quilting, and embroidery. The collection includes 34 colors of 300-yard spools.

PIXIE MEDALLION QUILT

This new pattern offers a fresh, modern take on the traditional Medallion-style quilt. For the quilt’s center, designer Sharon McConnell took inspiration from one of her favorite classic blocks, the feathered star. Each border is an opportunity for the quilter to experiment with color and value, and incorporate a variety of fabrics. Pixie Medallion is a confident-level pattern available as a PDF file. The pattern includes instructions for piecing, basting, and binding the quilt, as well as suggestions for quilting. The finished quilt measures 71” square.
